I was inspired to create a blog because of a good friend, Leif Jones and his excellent art blog and another whom I have never met, who writes and posts photographs on her 'blog' http://phetus.typepad.com/fauxtoes/.
There are so many images that I capture that I would never really put on my website as a portfolio piece and would not send out as an 'Image of the Week' as I have for the last couple years, so I decided a forum like this would be best suited.
Additionally, (in the formal bs of things) there are many occassions where I just see something that tickles my optic nerves enough that I am sure that others would like to see too...
Kinda like the very cool shot on today's New York Time's travel section. A dogsled team... if you saw it, I am sure you know what I mean about tickling the nerve, if you have not...

Anyway, here is the first picture for the blog.

I was out at Avila beach (central coast of california for those of you not from my area), to shoot some commercial shots of the Custom House restaurant. They had to cancel the shoot because of a banquet coming in, so I wandered out to the pier and shot images of the waves coming in... a personal favorite subject of mine. As I was walking back to my car I grabbed this shot of the pier and it's shadows.
